Born from the collaboration between Sylvain, national climbing coach and Philippe, embedded systems engineer, Deepron is a small size company established near Grenoble (France). After years of existence, it keeps manufacturing its products locally.
2013
2013 - The first timer
Timers available on the market do not fully satisfy climbers. The IFSC world championship in Paris (2012) was disturbed by timing defects, that alter speed climbing's image. Sylvain asks Philippe to think about designing a new solution.
2014
2014 - The first competitions, IFSC agreement
The prototypes give full satisfaction. The FFME (french climbing federation) invite Deepron to provide and manage timers on the speed climbing national championship and the upcoming Chamonix IFSC world cup.
The IFSC recognizes Deepron as an approved supplier for world-class speed climbing competitions.
2015
2015 - The SCEV-1 and SCEV-2 timers
Deepron now sells its climbing timers.
2017
2017 - Ramp-up
Speed climbing becomes more and more famous. Deepron provides for many newly built walls around the world.
2019
2019 - Square pads, 5-digits LED displays
The IFSC enacts new rules for speed climbing. Sizes and pressure forces on pads are normalized and LED displays shall now include milliseconds, for hundredth of a second ties have become too common.
2022
2022 - New logo, enlargement of the company
Deepron becomes a LLC, which will allow it to grow and answer the increasing demand for timers.
The IFSC proposes timers specifications for boulder and lead. The SCEV-2 is fully compliant.
2023
2023 - New workshop, new collaborators.
Installation in our Fontaine (FR 38) workshop.
2024
2024 - New services !
Deepron now proposes a VAR solution service for competitions.
In Madrid, the IFSC tests the double-wall, 4 climbers speed format.
The timers are adapted for the new disciplines : 4 climbers and 2Vs2 relays.
